The famous and distinctive Empire State Building in New York is set to allow online users choose the colours of their LED tower lights through social network platform Facebook.
Designed by Philips Color Kinetics and supervised by Malkin Holdings, the new LED lighting system incorporates an ability to customise the animations, effects and the colour of the displays.
Voters will be allowed to offer their opinion on which colour lighting that the Empire State Building glows by giving their backing to a particular shade of red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple and pink.
Users are encouraged to put forward their suggestion on the building’s official Facebook page while sharing their selection on other social sites like Twitter, Pinterest and Google+.
The president of Malkin Holdings, Anthony Malkin, said: “Since many people have expressed interest in requesting colours for our lights, this is their chance to get involved, helping us select the Empire State Building’s new standard LED colours for our tower.”
The result of the vote will be revealed the week commencing January 21, 2013.
